Daddy, Oh Daddy or like I call him sometimes "Mon Colonel"He will always respond and call me "bebe Mary, my bebe wassup, what's going on?" The best of all he called me "Arreybangha" in such a deep tone voice and now I will do anything to hear that voice.
Apostle Dr. Engineer Colonel Chief Sessekou Nelson Akoegbe the knowledge and wisdom that my dad has accumulated in 59 years of his life is unimaginable and incomparable.
He will always say "bebe early to bed, early to rise", "as you make your bed so shall you lie on it", and "if you make yourself banana, monkey will chop you".
As I write this, I cry because I am still in shock and this still feels so surreal. I go to bed hoping to wake up and hear him saying bebe help me edit my writings before I send it. I was his little editor. He had so much inspirational words and writings and he'll always say "Mary read your father's writings..do you see what impact your father is making back home"..."Your father is a star ehhh bebe".
My daddy was a Man of Truth, Valor, Integrity, Family-Oriented Man, and an extremely Strict God-fearing Man. I was born with the Word of God into a praying family and was raised as such. My dad was a very strict man not for anything else but because he wanted us to grow with the fear of the Lord and a Faith built in God and be the ultimate best in all we do. I miss you daddy, I miss you so much!!!!! I never for once thought you'll be gone so soon. I always had the notion that my dad will live forever and ever and ever. It hurts that I did not get to speak to him, see him or hear him say "bonne annee bebe" but at least I know heaven has received one more Angel. When doing morning and evening devotion, I still look up hoping to see him come and sit down and sing "Jesus is a winner man" and hit the drums. Such a bubbly and lively man, loving husband, son and brother who gave without looking back and helped so many people physically, financially, and most importantly spiritually. Preach the Gospel International Ministries (PGIM) will never be the same without you daddy. You have touched the hearts of so many. You always told us during family time that "we all have a mission on this earth" and we all must complete the mission God has sent us to accomplish on Earth and report back to him. Daddy was such a strong man that will never shed a tear because he was our knight and shining armor and will always be and in times like this will want me to be very strong not only for myself but above all for our amazing mother. He will want me to stay focused in school and complete it. My best friend, confidante, first fatherly love, role model, spiritual father and everything in this world, you raised me in the Way of the Lord and that is the most Amazing and Best Gift you could give to me as a daughter. God must be definitely enjoying your lovely voice and songs you taught us. The Morals and Values you have taught us will never be forgotten, your teachings will be implemented in our daily lives and you will FOREVER BE IN MY HEART Now and Forever. I will forever make you PROUD and that is a PROMISE. Please watch over us up there and strengthen, comfort, and console mummy. The rock and foundation of this family is built on Christ Jesus Our Lord and shall never be shaken. So many memories to look back on and you may not be here physically but spiritually I know you are with me, with us and will always be. Oh daddy, your bebe Mary misses you so much. I Trust in God and I know his plans are always of good and not of evil. God will never give you anything you cannot handle. Jehovah Jireh, our Provider will comfort us and I know dad is in a better place. My "Angel Daddy Akoegbe", you have been a star on Earth and I know will be such in Heaven. My First Love, oh daddy I love you so much. "When the happening was happening no one knew about it until the happening happened". We shall meet again one day. Guide your children and loving wife from Heaven above. "Sweet Father I no go forget you, for the loving you showered on me oooo." I love you, daddy.
